Audihello Privacy Policy

Audihello ("we") provides text-to-speech services through our browser extension, web app (app.audihello.com), and related services. This policy explains what data we handle and why.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address and a password (stored as a salted hash), used solely to operate your account.

Text you choose to listen to. When you press play, the text of the article, document, or selection is sent to our servers to be converted into audio. For Kindle Cloud Reader, an image of the visible book page is sent to our servers for text recognition, converted to text, and the image is immediately discarded. Text content may be processed by our infrastructure providers (DeepInfra, OpenAI) strictly to generate audio; per their API terms, this content is not used to train models.

Library items. Articles, documents, and text you explicitly save are stored in your account so you can access them across devices, along with your listening position.

Usage metering. We record the number of characters synthesized per month to enforce plan quotas. We do not log or store the text of synthesized audio beyond a short-lived audio cache keyed by a cryptographic hash.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not collect your browsing history. The extension only reads a page when you ask it to read that page.
• We do not use your content to train AI models, and our providers are bound by terms that prohibit the same.
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking scripts.

Browser permissions

The extension requests access to pages so it can extract readable text when you press Listen, highlight words as they are spoken, and (on read.amazon.com) capture the visible page for text recognition. These capabilities run only on your explicit action.

Storage and security

Data is stored on servers we operate. All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Authentication uses industry-standard JSON Web Tokens; passwords are hashed with bcrypt.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@audihello.com and we will complete deletion within 30 days.

Children

Audihello is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy at this address with an updated effective date.
